First Thursday! - Upstairs at the Folly

With Easter this weekend, First Friday will temporarily be known as First Thursday!

Why not get the long weekend off to great start and enjoy a leisurely lunch with other business people from the area?

The speaker this month, quite appropriately, is a representative from The Petersfield Chaplaincy.

TPC been set up by the Petersfield Area Churches Together (PACT) to meet people wherever they are, at work or play or at the shops, to provide an empathetic listening ear and to build bridges of understanding and trust between industry, commerce, faith and society.  

The Chaplains are all from local Christian churches and have a real heart for our town and its spiritual welfare.  However, the organisation is not on a mission of evangelism or to preach but rather will seek to listen and if necessary help by pointing people to areas of support or help within the town.   The Chaplaincy is not a formal counselling service and should be regarded as complementing existing provisions and services.

The service is free and totally confidential and aims to benefit employers, employees and their customers wherever that may be.  

To date a small team of Chaplains are operating in the Town centre and it is hoped that the Chaplaincy will expand to cover more of the Town’s businesses and organisations as the volunteer base grows.

John is a committed Christian and is a member of Life Church Petersfield.  Born at the beginning of WW2 in Guildford, his first career was the Royal Navy. On completion he went into the manufacturing industry working mainly in the Training and Personnel functions. On retirement he continued working for himself in the areas of training and out placement counselling.  He moved to Petersfield nearly three years ago having spent twelve very happy, and busy, years living in Southern Spain
